If they are green now- will they rot and turn to mush while under those buckets? That would be a concern to me as you'd want the leaves to be dried out before you do that. I think it would work then- anyone else with any ideas? This is a good one though!

I do not know how the Banana leaves breakdown but I do that with my canna leaves on the tender roses. I wrap my roses with the Canna leaves and stack pine needles around the roses. Canna leaves are like rubber and do not breakdown.
