Grew my first brug from seed, now what??

Hi Everyone,
I saved a seed from a trip to California and actually got it to grow a nice sized plant. Before it had a chance to get more than 12" tall, it was topped by strong wind. From its 5" stick of a stem it grew side shoots and re-leafed, and is about 18" tall. Now it's getting cooler (high 40s at night) and it's lost some leaves. It has a single central stem.
What should I do now? Should I cut it? Put it in the garage where it gets close to freezing (where there are flourescent lights on quite a bit of the time)? Put it in the basement at 60 or so degrees (also with intermittent shop lighting)? Cover it and make it dark?

I would place it on the garage when it gets close to freezing after all its the first year for this poor baby I dont make mine dark just protect the Brugs next year she will come back for you and it will be beautiful

I would not let it go dormant or expose it to temps lower than 40 at this point. I would put it in the basement as you described with about 6 hours of lighting per day and continue to let it grow. Treat it like a houseplant until Srping.
