Is this a bud?

Posted by joe_brug 5a (My Page) on

I am new to brugs and started this cutting on Oct. 13th. It is rooting nicely and shoots are forming. Could this be a bud so soon? It is round and does not look like a new leaf is starting. I am curious.

Thanks for looking, Joe

Looks like it could be, give it a few more
days and you will know for sure.
Sorry not much help!

It could be a bud. I had a Miss Emily McKenzie that was a cutting so small I had to sit it on an upside down pot so that the blossom wouldn't sit on the ground!

It looks like a bud and there appears to be another behind it. Check the bases of the leaves. If the attachment at the petiole is higher on one side I'd bet they are buds but you should be able to tell for sure in about a week.

I would say no. Just because I just walked outside and had my pep talk with the brugs. Thinking to myself and telling them, WHY or WHY can't they look that healthy and green and great ALL YEAR LONG lol

I saw a few tiny leaves....all curled up and had to check myself if it is a would be bud. But gently opening it...showed me otherwise. ONLY a leave.

So my bet....a leave lol

Oh yeah, needs a little more development to distinguish it from leaf or bud. You'll know soon tho!
