| That beautiful Santa Rosa finished blooming and it was too tall to get sun in the window. So, I cut the branches down to at least have leaves at window height. Not that it had any, it was almost bare of leaves. Anyway almost 2 weeks later, I'm finding the cut ends are weeping like crazy, dripping onto the floor even. I haven't had this experience before. Is this that dreaded disease discussed here in the past few months or something else?

They do weep when you cut them- kasha77

Put some Baby powder on the open wounds, it will seal them and stop the oozing.

ruth ann could it be that the brug is to wet in the soil and that it weeps that long after it was cut? Dianne did it stop yet? Lucy

It could be that you need to stop watering the plant for a week to Diane as Lucy mentioned. Once the area seals and callouses you will be fine. I have used the baby powder rather than garden Sulfa when I have been out of the Sulfa.

No it hasn't stopped yet. The sap is just running out of the ends, running down the limbs and dripping on the floor if possible. I planned on continuing to grow the tree, having cut it shorter and putting it in a south facing window, so I'd want to continue to water it. I just don't remember this happening before and I have another tree I cut by half and put in another window which is not doing this at all. It also has leaves on it, while the Santa Rosa has only about 5. Weird, huh? Diane
