It looks to be a member of the tiger moth/woolly bear family. The picture is so small I can't see the details. Is that a white dashed line along the cat's side? If so, it might be a yellow-winged pareuchaetes/pareuchaetes insulata. There's a picture of the cat in one of my caterpillar books, but I can't find a picture of one on the internet, so I can't give you a link.

The cat is solid orange. I have a bigger picture I can post if that would help.

It would help to have a bigger picture, Sherry, but since it's solid orange, I'm guessing that it's either a salt marsh moth cat or a Virginia tiger moth/yellow bear. They're both extremely variable in their coloration, and they're both generalists, eating just about anything. Last spring I found a cat similar to yours on my woolly pipevines/aristolochia tomentosa. I raised them in my moth cage, and they turned out to be salt marsh moths. The name is misleading, since they occur in areas far away from salt water - I'm 35 miles away.

Wow, that moth is beautiful. If I can find the cat again, I'll bring it in to raise.

It looks more like a Virginia tiger moth cat to me. And man do they like to roam - fast and quick they are. If you look somewhere else for a second, they are likely to be gone when you look back again.
