Butterfly Garden

Can you help me with this cat?

Hello everybody!! Happy to be here again :) I have a fair amount of these cats... but I don't know if they are butterfly really. I have a willow tree in the front of my house and I think they come from it... Can you help me to identify them? Thank you sooooo much!!!

That is probably a moth of some kind. Don't touch it though-the furry ones usually sting!!! Good luck on identification. You might try this website: www.whatsthiscaterpillar.co.uk/america/

Dear Diana,
looks like the older larvae of the WOOLLY BEAR caterpillar to me..
Younger caterpillars have more red-brown hair in the middle, older ones tend to be more brownish-black.They feed on Dandelion,Plantain,weeds and grasses...
The adult is a moth and is called the ISABELLA TIGER MOTH.
