I was following a duskywing skipper in my veggie garden and it led me to this beauty. It stayed still for several pictures and let me get really close. I had weeded, fertilized and watered the garden earlier in the day, and the butterfly was taking advantage of the damp soil. It's been so long since we've seen rain that the butterflies and the birds are more interested in water sources than in the flowers.
