Sorry the picture is small, I was afraid to frighten it away when I took it and I kept trying to reduce its size so it would post.I think my software is incompatible. What you may not see in the picture is that the spots that appear white are actually a creamy yellow. I would like to have a link to other pictures if anyone has seen them. I've found some pictures on the web, my little one must have been through some tough times because the light yellow marks on his lower wings did not have the separations that the ones I found have. The picture at
http://www.windsofkansas.com/TexasCrescent.jpg shows the coloring much more clearly.
It just goes to show you that even after 30 years of watching butterflies you can not have begun to see them all!
