Many,many moons ago my mother would use them with some success. I was tempted to buy some this spring but opted for bulk seeds instead. good luck

Those are fun. My kids had a fundraiser catalog at school one year that had them and I bought one. I got lots of seedlings from it but not as much variety as what was listed. The rudbeckia germinated well and there were several bachelor buttons and a couple other varieties but I can't remember what they were, maybe coreopsis.
The paper that the seeds are in dries out quickly. I might have had better luck with mine if I had kept it watered better.
Keep us posted. It will be interesting to see what you get.

Just wanted to update..no butterflies yet of course but even with the seed rolls being about 10 years old they sprouted well! I know It looks awful on this wasteland of a yard...the old owners left us with in november...I'm hoping really improve it over the next few years. We bought the house in November So I wasnt able to do much of anything till spring. But I have lots of seeds germinating and sprouts waiting to be planted:) I plan on removing the block border for something more decorative. But it's what I had on hand to mark the rolls. lol. anyway sorry just wanted to show progress of the rolls!

Houston do we have a problem? Although I think they are beautiful a felllow gardener told me they will destroy everything and do nothing but multiply....It makes me sad to think of killing them But I'm planning on making my whole yard a garden....Do I really need to kill them? or will they only take a small share? please help. {{gwi:455459}}
