Help with the name please.

It's a moth in the family Saturniidae, pretty closely related to the promethea and cecropia moth of North America. I'm not familiar with tropical moths, but I'll look through my books and see if I can ID it.

It's certainly beautiful!

It might be Rothschildia jacobaeae -

I don't know where you live, but this moth is native to Argentina. If it's not this one, it's a very closely realted species.

I looked at the two images, and R. jacobaeae is not it. If you look up Rothschildia on the internet, you'll get LOTS of pictures of this type moth.

This genus has quite variable markings.
I believe bromelia is in Mexico (per email address.mx)

Perhaps this is a Rothschildia forbesi -- Forbes' Silkmoth,
occurs in Mexico.
