What variety of passionvine are you looking for?

I've had good luck ordering vines off of EBay and Georgia Vines, with no residual pesticide problems.

Hi Mary, Any type would be fine, I think. I'm near Dallas, TX, and from what I understand, virtually any of the passionvine species can be used as a host plant. So, as long as it can be used as a host plant, I'm interested.

Actually, Lisa, I come up to that area quite a bit. I'm originally from Oklahoma, and even lived in Edmond for a while. My parents live in Perkins (south of Stillwater), and OKC is on the drive up. Where did you buy them?

Precure Nursery on West Reno is where I picked mine up. (Plants not seeds)

This was the passionvine last year. It is so large because it stayed green over the winter. This year it will have to start over :)

Texas Discovery Gardens is completely organic and will have them and many other wonderful b'fly plants at their sale in late April. Anyone in DFW interested in gardening for wildlife should attend that.

The Heard Museum also has a native plant sale in mid April but they don't have any native passiflora on their list this year.

Lisa, that passionvine is beautiful!!!! I was thinking it would be neat to just have it as a host plant, but that will add some beauty to my backyard as well.

I'm pretty sure that is p. incarnata. It does a nice job of covering the chain link fence...and the giant rose bush....and it was working on the crepe myrtle before I noticed it! :P The gulf frits do love it though. I was able to save cats and cut bunches of "branches" to give to a school to raise them.

I am limited to 2 small trellises for it to grow on and constantly have to cut it back to keep it trained to them.
Your blue one is BEAUTIFUL. I have a purple one.
