A couple days ago, I had the day off from work, so I was weeding in my perrenial bed. I saw an American Lady butterfly and a small white butterfly. Looked like a white sulfer but a minature one. I didn't have any flowers blooming unfortunately so they did not stick around. But sure am happy to see butterflies on April 5! Went looking to see about milkweed around our place, I found 4 of out my 7 butterfly weed plants are sprouting. Then yesterday I drove to my favorite place to collect milkweed to see if any of it was sprouting and I found a little sprout coming up, yeah! I do believe, Minnesota is going to be ready for the Monarchs when they come soon!

Yes, it sounds like we are in for a good year, Won't be long until those Monarchs arrive.

I planted a new swamp milkweed plant yesterday. Found that last year's plant is about 3/4" high right now. Hoping the deer leave it alone this year.
