Falcate Orangetip Chrysalis

Greetings, all. The Falcate Orangetip chrysalis is completed. Very different looking. I have uploaded the image--have never done this directly before.

And, I found Monarch eggs/larvae yesterday at the lake by the acreage. I went there to take photos of a White-eyed Vireo setting on eggs in a nest that I had watched being constructed. Checked out the wild-growing viridis and voila! Love getting out and discovering nature's stories that are taking place right now.

Enjoy!

Sherry,

The chrysalis is only an inch long. So it is very thin. Took two days to take shape.

Very unique, Sandy! Just looks like a tiny thorn on the stem.

Yes, Susan, it's an excellent camouflage. I would never have known what I was looking at if I found it out in nature.
