Butterfly Garden

Question about Karner blue

I have this little guy hanging around my yard and it just hit me that its an endangered butterfly and I can't find any wild lupine around but my local greenhouse has hybridized lupines... will that work for the karner blue host plant? Or will I have to mail order wild lupine?

You are seeing another species of small blue butterfly, and there are a few.

Karner blues do not live in central Ohio. In fact, they had gone extinct in all of Ohio until a major project reintroduced them into Lucas County using karner blues from Michigan.

Yes I just had to make a new oassword To my butterflyandmoth.com account because I submitted photos awhile ago that i forgot about and they are Eastern tailed blue so thank you for that :-)

OK now that I know they aren't larger blue I can breath a little bit haha
