Congrats, congrats!! Don't you just love the undersides of those American ladies?

I ordered three Artemesia stelleriana plants for my garden, and they should arrive this week. I don't know if it was all the rain or what, but the cudweed has been scarcer this year than I can ever remember - it's always good to have a backup plant or two. These will be planted in raised beds.

I released two sleepy oranges yesterday - my first releases of the season of butterflies from this year, and I released my first two red admirals just a few minutes ago. The RAs shot out of the cage like out of a cannon! There are about 20 more RA chrysalides in the cages, plus more sleepy oranges, some of which progressed to the point of having translucent chrysalis skins, where you can see the butterfly inside - they should be emerging today or tomorrow. There are a lot of American lady chrysalides, too, and the oldest ones should be emerging any day now.

I just LOVE releasing butterflies!
