Butterfly Garden

Giant Swallowtail....

I saw my first swallowtail in Minnesota (not counting the BST's I overwintered)and it was, surprisingly, a GIANT swallowtail. We don't typically get many of those in Minnesota. I will have to check my rue plant...adding a couple more today. Happy Gardening everyone, Tony

Here we all are, down in giant swallowtail country not seeing any, and one shows up in Minnesota? Wow - congratulations!

Congrats! Hope you find some eggs. I haven't spotted any Giant Swallowtails here yet this season so I'm a bit jealous.

My buttonbush is finally coming back so I'm excited to see if it attracts swallowtails like I've seen in some of your pictures, Miss Sherry. Not sure if the 'Giant' was a "fluke" or a sign of things to come. We're in for a week of great butterfly weather so I'll keep you posted! Tony
