OMG!! I've never heard of such a thing!

I would doubt that her eggs would be fertile, but I know nothing about silk moth chromosomes and genes, assuming they have them. Dogs and wolfs can produce offspring, showing that they're genetically the same animal, as I understand it. Maybe all silk moths are the same, just superficial differences?

I hope you get some of her eggs, so we can all find out!

I guarantee you'll get eggs. Viable eggs? Not so much. If you really want to know, make sure the luna is kept in solitary so she does not mate again.

Considering how many times I've found moths "mating" with the yarn around my mothel, you just know some guys are desperate for the first thing their equipment will hook up with.

Here is the pic I took yesterday!
I am not expecting much but I do admit that I was very surprised and a little curious. These two moths are from the same family. Even if nothing come out of it... it was exciting just wondering... LOL
The luna was immediately put into solitary after they separated so we will see !

Keep that picture in case you tell somebody about this, and they don't believe you! :)
