Raising Monarch Butterflies

Good afternoon everyone. I looked for answers on the forum but did not find a lot specifically regarding raising found monarch eggs. My question is how to make the best environment for the eggs to hatch in? I currently have them in individual containers, on a moistened paper towel, on the egg they were laid on. They are sitting near a window with indirect sunlight. Is there anything else I should be doing? We have had 5 caterpillars hatch so far, and three of them are probably on their 3rd instar.

The lid has a damp paper towel under it. This gives humidity without the leaf molding. The top is placed on the container. The top has a few air holes in it.

Congrats on your hatched cats, and thank you so much for taking the time to help the Monarchs. There are many different methods for raising caterpillars. If you spoke to 5 individuals here, you might well get 5 different answers! The important thing is to read as much as you can and educate yourself about what different things worked for different people. John's link gives a lot of great info. Good luck to you!!!! ~~Angie
