A monarch ELF made a visit to me last Saturday!

So. I am excited because I watched an ELF Monarch spend over an hour in my yard, covering all ten of my milkweeds with eggs! I talked to a fellow LEP lover today, and she said that about a month ago, she had 25 Monarch cats, which died about the 2nd instar, and she is an experienced butterfly "raiser." She thinks it might be that her milkweed from Lowe's was sprayed with pesticides. She switched them to milkweed that had come back from last year, and at least 6 lived. She cut the Lowe's milkweed plant down to the ground, and will trust the leaves that will come back from it. I bought some from Lowe's too, and now I am concerned that the same thing may happen to these cats that I will be raising. Any thoughts on milkweed that has been sprayed with pesticides?
