I did a brief search and came up empty for plants. I would encourage you to retry seeds and use the wintersowing method. See the forum here on gardenweb for details, but you basically cut a milk jug or 2liter bottle in half, add drainage holes and soilless planting medium and plant your seeds. The container helps maintain constant moisture and prevents birds or wind or rain from carrying off your seeds. Plants that don't require a cold period for germination can be started anytime. Many wild flowers do need a cold period, so they are planted mid-winter and placed outdoors. They will sprout when the weather is appropriate. Most people are skeptical at first, but I will never start seeds any other way.
