This is fantastic news! So few finds have been reported this year. Are you planning on bringing it inside to raise?

I've been carefully checking all of my milkweed and so far, I've found no indication I've had a Monarch visit. With all of the storms throughout the midwest, it's yet another difficult situation facing the Monarchs this year. :-(

Great news indeed! I just saw a Red Spotted Purple nectaring on Polygonum yesterday AM. Haven't seen any sign of the Monarch yet, but lots of American Lady cats...

Always amazes me that you guys get them so much sooner than I do, but it makes sense if you look at a migration map. Here is NW Georgia, it is normally August before I am seeing Monarchs. Congrats on the egg!

Mama Monarch blessed me with more eggs a few days ago, and some are hatching already. Mama BST visited again also and left more eggs on the fennel, and then.....Mama Variegated Frit visited yesterday and left a few eggs, too! So things are finally shaping up.

Monarchs will hopefully show up early here, but it could be any time between June and August.

I just collected the first 4 BST eggs from some Bronze Fennel at the nursery yesterday. Kind of unexpected, but I was buying some Basil (I accidentally fried my own WS seedlings ugh) which was next to the fennel, and looked down and noticed an egg, so I had to look for more. :)

Cool:) I'm checking my Fennel daily...
