Hi Folks,
I haven't been around here for a while...been really busy with my daylily gardens, but I did get a nice butterfly garden planted back in the spring and it's now paying off.
Here's a photo of one of the many Anise Swallowtail cats that's feasting on the dill in my garden.

That's a beautiful picture, Jan, but it's a black swallowtail cat. Good to hear from you again! Sherry |

Thanks for the correct ID Sherry, and whatever it is, I've got lots of them dining on the dill in my butterfly garden so I'm a happy camper. :) It's amazing to me how the butterflys find the host plants. Jan |

| Sure wish you could send some up here to Knoxville. My dill is about 4 feet tall and so far no caterpillars. Kerry |

| All of my dill is about 6 inches tall and is being attacked by aphids, just like all of the other plants around the house. Fortunately, I've seen some lacewing eggs on it. There's also a bumper crop of ladybugs all over the yard. I do have about 5 square feet of parsley that is going to seed this year. Usually, I find my first small Papilio polyxenes caterpillars of the year on their flower heads. |
