She'll lay more eggs over a period of time, at least that's how they do here. I've got 4 GST chrysalides, about 8 or 9 near pupation, about 7 or 8 mid-instar cats and one little bitty one.

I can't wait to hear from you about how you like raising them. They're the funniest cats I raise. When they fill up and it's time to molt, many of them will stay wherever they happen to be when the 'molting urge' comes over them, instead of crawling off away from other cats and sometimes even the food for the duration. So you get a lot of big cats hanging upside down for long periods of time on little ends of rue leaves and such. Once their old skin comes off, the eating resumes!

Beautiful! - I haven't seen a single one this year. I have prickly ash for them but there's some kind of beetle larva that defoliates it so I planted wafer ash this spring and have lots of rue. All I need is Giant Swallowtails now to eat them all.

Thanks! I was actually taking a photography class at our local community college so I had that photograph printed for "homework" but because of the settings on my camera I went with another shot instead. She hasn't been back that I know of, however, the one baby I have is doing well and you guys were right, he/she is a sluggish little thing! But I can tell he's shed his skin at least once because his appearance changed. Definitely a giant baby.
