Butterfly Garden

Unknown Butterfly Bush

Don't know anything about this butterfly bush except I liked the color. It is suppose to be fragrant but I haven't been able to notice any. The little plant in the back looks the same except it has a longer bloom spike.

dunno. There are so many cultivars that are so similar it would be impossible to nail it down without a plant tag. 'Nano Blue' and 'Black Night' ard very popular cultivars carried by most nurseries and big box stores. I'd bet on one of those two.

This nursery has about 40 different ones.

I was thinking Black Knight, but I think it's a little too bright. Mine are a deeper purple. Then again, my purple emperor are lighter purple than they are supposed to be.

I guess one test will be to see how big it gets. I've noticed a lot of the newer cultivars are being bred to be smaller.
