Thanks Sherry for the Luna Moth help. (pic).

Not sure if you recall, but last fall a little girl from the neighbourhood showed-up at my door with a big caterpillar and said I would know how to take care of it so it wouldn't get run over by a car. Didn't even know what it was and I believe it was you, Sherry, who told me it was a Luna Moth and how to take care of it during the winter.

About a week ago, I remembered the cocoons (DH found one too) in the terrarium in the basement and quickly brought it out. The next day, there it was!!

I want to thank everyone here for their help in this venture. I know I also received input from others at the time. The look on Neally's face when I brought her the Luna Moth for her to release was most precious!! I left her in charge of the other cocoon and have been told she did a super job of releasing the second Luna and they are now looking for porch lights in the evenings. :O)

I know I will be doing these again this coming year!

Congrats, tiffy, lunas are easily my favorite moth! Your boy (at least I think it's a male) is gorgeous - there are so few green moths and/or butterflies!
We all love to help people successfully raise their leps here on the forum - I'm so glad everything turned out well!

Congratulations! I've only seen them in a butterfly exhibit at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. They are one of my favorite moths.

You definitely made Neally's day! Kids sure do love lepidoptera.
