42 second video of spicebush swallowtail cat

The link below leads to a 42 second video of one of my little spicebush cats. He chewed through his leaf stem and he and the partially eaten leaf came crashing down to the bottom of his rearing cage. I decided to try and photograph him since I had to disturb him in order to place him back up on the little tree in his cage. I don't know if he knocked himself silly when he fell or if he can't see well but he did a lot of head bobbing. Maybe he was just trying to sense new surroundings?

I don't know if this will work and if not, I'll remove the post. The video is in a Picasa album on line.

Enjoyed the video, Mary. It looks like he is saying "where is a softer part of this leaf?"

What leaf is that? Spicebush? (Lindera benzoin)

    Hi Tom,

Yes, that is a Spicebush leaf. It must have fallen with the little cat, as both were on the floor of the cage. Poor little guy, he seemed so disoriented. The Spicebush is about 3.5 ft tall, so that was a tremendous distance to fall for something so small.
