Did these chrysalides overwinter, or did they just form?

If they overwintered and still haven't emerged, they're probably dead. Are they sooty black? Dead chrysalides are sooty black.

No they don't look sooty .yes they did overwinter and should I worry about my promethea and luna and poly cocoons?

Don't give up yet!!! Are you keeping your cocoons indoors? The temperature might be your problem. Most people keep their house nice and air conditioned. A little warm sunny day or two would help things along ( no full sun ... don't want to fry your cocoon LOL ). Good luck!

I keep my cocoons and chrysalis outside. Do tiger swallowtail chrysalis become transparent?

Tigers don't become transparent, you just go to the cage on day and there it is! At least I haven't been able to see any of the butterfly through the chrysalis shell.

I don't know why yours are taking so long to emerge if they're outside. I feel sure they'll do so soon.
