Does this sound normal to you?

I bought my first milkweed and two weeks later I was thrilled to find two Monarch caterpillars! They got big and my milkweed was disappearing. So I bought two more milkweeds. Fast forward to having to go back and back and BACK to the nursery to buy more plants to keep them fed. Now I have 8 milkweeds. This morning I counted 14 caterpillars on one 1 gallon milkweed and that was after I cut some stems with another 4 caterpillars (at least) to give to a friend. The other plants each had 1 or two caterpillars on them, plus eggs. What I'm asking is when does my madness stop? I can't keep buying more milkweeds but I don't want them to starve! I know its not a bad problem to have, and I did try cucumbers and they tried a few nibbles but thats it! I bet there are a few of you that are as crazy as me!
