Moving the Pupa

jeri

I was given 4 tiny Monarch caterpillars to raise (had to use my cheaters and a flashlight to see them!). My family has been having so much fun watching them grow! They are all chrysalises now, and we are blown away by the beauty of these things.

Three of the chrysalises are on clothespins I had set up for them, but one used the underside of a leaf. I would like to move that one if possible; I would like to move the chrysalis to a safer place and put the plant outside in the sun for recovery as well.

Can I just snip off the leaf? I'm guessing it will turn brown and not be able to sustain the pupa. How should I do this?
