feeding cats different milkweed varieties?

I found ten monarch cats this morning on a few asclepia incarnata plants. I know someone who might be interested in raising a few of them with her kids, but she doesn't live close and may not have access to asclepia incarnata. Can they also be given other varieties of milkweed, or once they start on a certain type do they reject others?

I only have a few plants, so can't cut or dig them to give to her. If there's a chance the cats will only eat what they were hatched on, I'll raise them all here.

Thanks!
