Butterfly Garden

Joe Pye weed problem

I looked out my window yesterday to a little corner I have filled with Joe Pye Weed. Several of the stems were wilted and it looks like leaf miners have really caused the leaves to be white now. Anyone else have this problem? Would a soap spray work on them?

Are you sure it's not powdery mildew? That plant is susceptible to it.

Hmmm.....I'll have to go take a closer look. From a distance, it doesn't look like it, but I could be wrong.

I've had Leafminers on my Joe-pye as well in recent years, come to think of it.
Especially the year before the drought. They can be pretty severe.
