Hoping somebody will confirm my id of Question Mark, Polygonia interrogationis for this cat. Fingers crossed. Found on False Nettle, Boehmeria cylindrica. This species is on my bucket list. :-)

Thanks for your response.
I'm nervous about disturbing it--I suspect it's pupating--can I expose it with out harming it? I was so excited about my find that I just stuck my camera through a small opening and that's all I saw :-0
