First time mom seeks help

I went out to check on the black swallowtail eggs on my fennel, and three eggs have hatched. At first I thought the little black blobs were dead, but I cut the leaf and brought it inside for a closer look, and saw they were teeny tiny caterpillars, black on both ends and yellow in the middle, and they were moving a little. I set them up as the picture shows, in a plastic container with the stems in a pill bottle. There's Saran wrap on the bottle, so the little cats don't fall in the water. I also brought in a parsley stem with an egg on it. I have a nonwoven fabric on top which I use for sewing patterns. It's used in septic fields, because it's permeable, so I think it should be breathable. Is this OK for now? The fennel is already drooping.
