Painted Daisies

I had a surprise in one of my butterfly gardens yesterday, a painted daisy is blooming. I don't remember ever planting it, but there it was. It's yellow edges with deep red inside. Anyone know if these are perennials? Do they attract butterflies? Thanks!

Kathy, I'm wondering if your painted daisy is a Blanket Flower. If so, it is a perennial and is known to be attractive to Butterflies.
