YAY! Congrats! I know it makes us so happy to see them flying through the yard.

I'm showing my ignorance here, plus I can't seem to remember anything. Its a spicebush swallowtail, right? If so, I have 3 spicebushes. :)

It looks like a female black swallowtail to me, at least I think I can see the 'red eye' on the inner hindwings faintly, and I don't see the lunules of a spicebush swallowtail.

You'll need dill, fennel, parsley, or some other member of the carrot family or rue.

I don't have parsley, but I do have lots of wild stuff.....like wild parsnip, posion hemlock, queen anne's lace. Will those be okay?
I swear, I learn their names one summer, and forget them by the next!

It does look like a Black Swallowtail and in the wild they do use Queen Anne's Lace as one of their main host plants. Good luck, hope you find lots of eggs.
