Sandy, goldfinches like MANY plant seeds inside the butterfly garden: Zinnias, liatris, salvia....that's just off the top of my head but they are ALWAYS in the butterfly garden.

From what I can tell, they seem to coexist peacefully with the butterflies, although I did see a cranky monarch male chasing one off. Tony

This is the first year I have seen them which is interesting considering they're our state bird! Its good to know that they can coexist. How funny it must have been to see a monarch chasing away a bird!
