Variegated Fritillary surprise!!!

I planted a few Passiflora incarnata seeds two years ago. Since then they have grown and taken over the trellis in which the Chinese wisteria grows. I have been seeing 100's of silver spotted skipper larvae but no fritillaries. I decided to take cuttings of the Passiflora incarnata new growth and stick them in soil just
to see what would happen. When I went to check on them today I found this

Woo hoo! Congrats on all those VF eggs!

I released one of mine yesterday, and the other one is still a chrysalis. I never get more than a few VFs at a time.

Thank you! I love how the VF's have such metallic looking chrysalises. But I am so jealous of people who are raising monarchs. I have so much milkweed but I haven't seen a single monarch.
