So after my 17 swallowtails disappeared on me, I found two at work on parsley. And two more hatchlings this morning plus SIX eggs!! I also have a gray hairstreak cat I'm raising on clover, and an unknown hatchling I found on hackberry that I'm pretty sure is a hackberry emporer and a possible question mark who is molting right now so I'm hoping this next instar ill be able to confirm!! I just wish I could see the swallowtails. I've not seen a single one. All I've seen are whites and skippers. I DID see a very pretty black and red butterfly that swooped in and was gone in the blink of an eye that I wish I could have IDed. I've never seen one like it before. So I have no idea what it was. I just know it was pitch black and had red wing tips and it was rather large. Anyone know what it could have been?
