How beautiful! He or she really seems to be enjoying the milkweed!

I guess that's a great-spangled fritillary? Aphrodite frits look similar, at least in pictures. They don't occur here, so I don't get any real life views.

Beautiful! One of my favorites--finally saw one in my backyard this year.

They have an interesting life cycle. Caterpillars eat violets and will overwinter as caterpillars, so let the leaves stay in your garden because they will hibernate in the leaf litter. You will be rewarded with more next year.
