attracting lots of cabbage whites, but not much else

I was thinking of butterflies when I planted my garden: lots of different coneflowers, daisies, catmint, bee balm, phlox, as well as petunias, balloon flower, bellflower, etc. Almost everything I've planted is supposed to attract butterflies. I'm getting lots of bumble bees and cabbage white butterflies, but no other types of butterflies. Is there anything I can do to attract other types? I know milkweeds are great for monarchs, but I have a 3 year old and am trying to avoid toxic plants for the time being.

Is that just the way it goes? I'm not complaining about having the cabbage whites, I just wish I could see some different types.

Thanks!
