Striking Moth!

In the garden shooting a few butterflies today and this brightly colored Moth caught my eye from twenty feet away. Not the best shot of the moth but the one with the best angle to show the top-wing display. The underside is solid orange on both the fore-wing and the hind-wing.

According to my research (always subject to confirmation), it is a member of the Tiger Moth family known as the Clymene Moth (Haploa clymene). It is active both day and night. Host plants are Eupatoriums (I have a Mist Flower adjacent to the Common Milkweed that this one was found on), oaks and willows.

Have a nice day,

Bob
