You must be such a proud parent! Congratulations!

And, the wings are pretty dry now by 6:15pm. It's 2 hours after eclosure. The Zebra is crawling all around inside the tent now. Of course, I have been watching the whole time! Now that the wings are fully expanded, I am noticing an almost constant quivering of the wings and tails. Must be a species specific thing? It is a smaller butterfly than I had imagined it would be. Seems about the size of a Gulf Frit to me. Awesome day!

Here is Zebra #1 after release onto Pawpaw. The little guy has come full circle now. :o)

Wow!! Look at those LOOONG tails! He's beautiful, although I'm guessing it's a she, having as much black as she does. The zebra swallowtails I've seen have all been about about the size of a black swallowtail, which is small as swallowtails go.

What a beauty! I've enjoyed the saga of the Zebra Swallowtail. Such a perfect specimen to complete the life cycle. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Thanks guys. It's nice to have someone to enjoy the journey with. Sherry, I wasn't sure about how to sex them. Thanks for the tip about more black on females. Maybe you can look at each one as they eclose and tell me what sex you think they are? I was of course hoping to get some females!

DRUMROLL PLEASE?????? And, here is #2 Zebra butterfly. This one eclosed at 1pm today. Two chrysalides left, and they are brown ones. So, I think that I won't have as much advance notice with them.
