PRONTO..Pupation

Wow! This has really been surprising. I have seen one Monarch in my yard this year. She was here on July 7th. Eight days later on July 15th, I found 7 tiny little Monarch caterpillars..probably 2nd instars. I put them into a tent, and they proceeded to voraciously inhale every bit of Tropical MW that I had in pots. It seemed like they were progressing along through the instars faster than usual to me. Today, 8 days after finding them, I already have 4 chrysalides. Two others are attached, and the last is still nibbling a bit. It seems like they are pupating very very quickly after attaching. I am used to seeing them hang in the "J" for about 24 hrs before pupating. That is not happening. Anyone else seen this before?
