Another batch of Monarch eggs

I followed this lovely lady around my milkweed this afternoon - she was ovipositing and I was following her taking the leaves with the eggs. It was a good thing that I had things to do and places to be, or I might have spent the whole afternoon with her.

Is that tropical milkweed she is ovipositing on? I found 2 more eggs today... along with a huge mantis on my milkweed.

Yes, it's tropical milkweed.

Beautiful photo mostone!

Have you noticed that sometimes they like to lay eggs on the unopened flower buds?

And the more eggs I find the "richer" I feel! Ha! Has to be some sort of disease!

Very pretty pic!! I collected 36 eggs on the Asclepias curassavica the other night. Somebody when on a laying spree. :)

My plants were started from seed, but they are not as big as yours, and are not flowering yet. They are about 4 - 8 inches tall, but very healthy. Apparently the mama Monarch liked them!

I will have to start supplementing with wild milkweed to raise this many.
