Agastache foeniculum host plant Summer Azure

Hi all, Just thought I'd share that I saw a Summer Azure (almost positive it was one but no camera) laying eggs on the flowerheads of an Agastache foeniculum (anise hyssop). I thought that was pretty neat to see and now there is a new reason to grow Agastache.

It's been pretty lousy here in Oak Park as far as caterpillars and butterflies are concerned. Get the odd Red Admiral, QM, and Fiery Skippers but not too much else. I had a QM chrysalis that went mushy and black--there was an Ichneumon wasp in the kitchen (odd smell when squashed), so I think that's what happened to the QM. All the American Lady caterpillar nests had those parasite cocoons (think Braconid)

Hope it gets better the latter part of summer. Enjoy reading all of your successes out there.
