Dear forum members-

Please help me identify this caterpillar--it's about 1 inch long (probably very common), but I don't know what to feed it. I found it in the beach sand at our beach in Chicago. Pls see link for photo

Thanks in advance!!

Narda

I'm no expert, but likely that's some kind of moth that may be a "general feeder" - will eat many plants/trees. You may want to try a couple of leaves from some common plants for that area. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for looking out for the little guys!

Thanks, fighting, but I do need to narrow the feeding plants down. Thus I need the exact name of the caterpillar / moth.

Can anyone else give me a clue?

Gaby
