I just a few minutes ago, saw the first one I have seen all year....flying by after drinking at my echinacea. I have some A tuberosa and A syriaca growing...and an unknown one...will have to look for cats in 2-3 days.

beautiful! just beautiful.

I have not seen any monarchs in my garden this summer... mostly swallowtails. The swallows must stick around longer.

I know monarchs are visiting because I've had caterpillars on my milkweed. Wish they'd stick around so I could get a pretty picture of them. :o)

I have two "lodging" Monarchs in my garden, never far from the Liatris lingulistylis. They have been circling around the yard making fun of the other butterflies (chasing) and nectaring up a storm. I have four 5th instar Monarch cats along with two BST cats (I just lost one :-(>). Haven't seen an AL or an RA for weeks now. But I do see upon occasion the Hummer and the Hummer Moth, along with some Tiger Swallowtails and some RSPs.
Fiery and Common Roadside Skippers really like my Anise Hyssop this season.
