milkweed - aphids and more aphids ...

I have them all over the milkweed. Managed to contain them until this recent rainy spell and now they're everywhere.

Yesterday, I mixed up 2 teaspoons of liquid Ivory dish washing soap with about 30 oz of water and sprayed on the aphids. I used a small plastic bottle hand sprayer like you can purchase just about anywhere, Wal Mart, Dollar Store, etc.

The spray appears to have killed the aphids but now I'm not certain if I should wash down the milkweed.

Does anyone know if the dried soap solution will burn or damage the plants? The A incarnata really has no leaves left, other than some nasty looking material that was once lovely green leaves.
