It seems I am full of questions this week! I think I have this one, but I wanted to check consensus, because I have been wrong!

From what I'm reading, the most obvious difference between the Painted Lady, and the American Painted Lady, is the size and number of the eye spots on the outer wing. So according to that...

This one would be a Painted Lady:

And this, from earlier this summer, would be an American Painted Lady:

I'm pretty sure I got it, but if not, please let me know where I've gone wrong. I'm loving this learning experience!

PS I don't know what's up with Shutterfly today, but neither of these pics are as washed out as they appear. I'm also learning to work this new-ish camera, but they look much better in my picture library.
