Best Monarch Year Ever!

Earlier this spring, I was bemoaning the terrible numbers of Monarchs that overwintered in Mexico and assuming it would be slim pickings for Monarch eggs and cats this summer. Amazingly, I've found more eggs and cats than ever before. Just in the last week, there have been eggs on two different patches of milkweed in my yard, and a neighbor across the road has tons of stray Common Milkweeds around his orchard and veggie garden with tons of eggs. I've lost count, but I must have about 40 eggs and cats. Two have formed a chrysalis, one is in the "J" formation, and the rest are happily munching. Why is it that I find these eggs just as I'm supposed to be packing up to move across country to a new job? I don't have time for this! But I love it. I'd be happy to share with anyone in Michigan.
